​Welcome to Generation WI3LD!

Our focus will be to Investigate, Interact and Impact the natural world we all call home.  Mr. Williams, previously from PACK 741, will be teaching this exploratory.  Students will be spending a good deal of time outside while they are exploring, researching and questioning.  

7th Grade Units of Learning

  • Creation of outdoor spaces for the Timberview community
  • Common sense fire wise plans in an urban and mountain setting

The student will learn conversational and grammar skills through modeling, oral activities, and games.  There also will be exposure to customs and foods.

Students will work in an office/library setting as an assistant to office/library support staff.  The student will receive a copy of expectation, will be trained on how to complete the assigned tasks, and will receive an evaluation of their performance.

​This fun class explores the acoustic (non-electric) guitar. Students will learn the basics of acoustic guitar playing, including reading chords, musical notes, and tablature. This class is to be a foundation for expanding individual learning of guitar music.

​The physical education program continues to develop skill, participation, good sportsmanship and a greater knowledge of the various activities and sports.  Many activities are offered, from team sports that develop skills for play during leisure time, and activities that have a carry over value to adult life.  The health curriculum offers the students information on strategies to become health literate in the areas of fitness and nutrition.  Growth in a wide range of areas contributes socially, emotionally, physically and mentally to help develop the whole person.

​Team sports and fitness are the focus of seventh grade physical education. Fitness activities will include trail and track running, form running, interval training, and ladder and agility training. Students will also incorporate game strategies into team activities that could include but are not limited to softball, soccer, flag football, field hockey, lacrosse, and rugby. Practical game application of rules and skills is emphasized. Active student participation is essential.

This program is used to provide a typical peer supports for students with special needs in the middle school environment.  Peer partners work with students in the classroom setting, and may assist with transitions, academic, prevocational, and social activities

​In Jazz Band, the instrumentation is limited to traditional big band instruments (piano, electric bass, guitar, drum, trumpet, trombone, and sax) and the size of the band is small.  This class will start with the basic jazz styles and concepts but will rapidly move to an advanced level.  Students must show a high level of proficiency on their instrument.  Jazz band requires a significant dedication by students and parents due to rehearsals that start at 6:40 AM two days a week.  An audition is required.

Metals/woods technology will be the emphasis for industrial technology. Students will be given an introduction to woodworking and metalworking, using tools and equipment to produce different projects. Safety will be emphasized.

Students will engage in project-based activities that implement the National Educational Technology Standards and D20 21st Century Skills.  Students will understand and practice Digital Citizenship.  Students will practice keyboarding skills, create video projects using Adobe Premiere Elements, and 3D graphic design using Adobe Photoshop CS6.  They will also use  internet-based software like Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets.

​Seventh grade students with one or more years of playing experience may sign up for concert band.  The curriculum will include further development of performance skills, articulation, technique, the breathing apparatus, timing and phrasing, balance and blend of the ensemble.  Students will study a variety of musical styles.  This group has a number of evening performances during the year which are a required part of the
