UNC Summer Enrichment Programs

SEP is a two-week residential program at the University of Northern Colorado consisting of high-interest, hands-on, brains-on courses for gifted, talented, and creative students entering grades 5 through 10.

Talented and Gifted Program at Timberview Middle School
TAG Coordinator: Carol Snyder
The Timberview Middle School talented and gifted program provides services to formally identified gifted students in the following ways:
* Differentiation in the regular classroom
* Clubs and enrichments during and after school
* Direct services from the Talented and Gifted coordinator
Students may receive services in one or more of the ways listed above based upon student need, program availability, and/or recommendation from the regular classroom teacher in collaboration with the gifted coordinator.

" 'Gifted Children' means those persons between the ages of four and twenty-one whose aptitude or competence in abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishment in one or more domains are so exceptional or developmentally advanced that they require special provisions to meet their educational programming needs. Gifted children are hereafter referred to as gifted students. Children under five who are gifted may also be provided with early childhood special educational services. Gifted students include gifted students with disabilities (i.e. twice exceptional) and students with exceptional abilities or potential from all socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural populations. Gifted students are capable of high performance, exceptional production, or exceptional learning behavior by virtue of any or a combination of these areas of giftedness:
  • General or Specific Intellectual Ability
  • Specific Academic Aptitude
  • Creative or Productive Thinking
  • Leadership Abilities
  • Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Musical, Dance, or Psychomotor Abilities"

The Academy District 20 Gifted Education Program provides gifted students opportunities for intellectual challenge, engaging enrichments, and dynamic programming resulting in maximum growth. We strive to inspire creativity, passion for learning, leadership, and social responsibility.
