Intramural vs. Interscholastic
Middle school athletics programs focus primarily on skill development, participation, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. To that end, all students who register for sports at Timberview participate in our intramural (IM) program.
Typically during the first week or two of practice, coaches will assess players and select some for the interscholastic (IS) teams at each grade level for those sports that play both IM and IS. The IS teams compete against other schools.
The IS team is not set in stone. Coaches may alter their teams based on ability, attitude, grades, injury, or other factors.
