Students arriving late must physically be signed in at the attendance office by a parent. Students not physically signed in at the office will be considered unexcused. If a student needs to leave school early for an appointment, the parent\u002Fguardian \u003Cstrong>must\u003C\u002Fstrong> physically sign the student out of school. Students will be called to the office for early release only after the parent or guardian has physically signed the student out from the office. Proper identification and permission (written and approved or listed in IC) is required for anyone other than the parent or guardian to pick up students. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>In order for an older sibling to pick up a student, a photocopy of the authorized older sibling’s photo identification must be on file. Any schoolwork missed during an excused absence must\u003Cstrong> \u003C\u002Fstrong>be made up within the same number of days that the student was absent. It is the student’s responsibility to check with their teacher or pack regarding missing assignments. Work missed during an unexcused absence is provided to students per pack policy. Prearranged homework \u003Cstrong>may\u003C\u002Fstrong> be provided for some prearranged absences per pack policy. Any homework\u002Fassignments provided for prearranged absences are due to the teacher on the first day the student returns from the prearranged absence. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch2>Tardy Policy\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>Students have four minutes between classes to attend to personal business and are expected to arrive to class on time, with all necessary materials, and prepared to learn. Students with more than \u003Cstrong>five (5)\u003C\u002Fstrong> cumulative tardies per quarter will receive a disciplinary referral and be assigned an after school detention. Subsequent tardies will receive additional consequences which may include in-school or out of school suspension. Parents are asked to track student tardies in IC and discuss the importance of being on time and prepared for class with their children. \u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Students are not permitted to leave class for any reason other than an emergency during the first ten (10) minutes and last ten (10) minutes of each class period.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch2>Attendance and Extra-curricular Activities\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>If a student is absent from school, they may not participate in any after school and\u002For extra-curricular activity (e.g., sports, dances, clubs, etc.).
