6th Grade Course (Quarter Courses)
This class introduces students to both 2D and 3D art, providing a strong foundation of artistic knowledge, skills, and vocabulary that can be applied in future art courses. Students will have the opportunity to work in a hands-on art studio environment while exploring a variety of artistic techniques and media.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Drawing
- Painting
- Printmaking
- Ceramics
- Sculpture
- Plaster
- Other creative art forms
Through these experiences, students will develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for the visual arts.
7th Grade Art Exploration (Semester Course)
This semester-long course allows students to build upon and strengthen previously learned art skills while exploring both 2D and 3D art forms. Students will refine their artistic techniques and expand their understanding of art concepts through a variety of hands-on projects.
New processes, materials, and creative approaches will be introduced as students work with media that may include:
- Drawing
- Painting
- Printmaking
- Sculpture
- Ceramics
- Mixed media
- More
This course encourages creativity, problem-solving, and artistic growth while preparing students for advanced art opportunities.
8th Grade Art Exploration (Semester Course)
This semester-long course provides students with the opportunity to explore both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art while developing their artistic skills and creative expression. Students will work with a variety of media and techniques, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramics, with an emphasis on both functional and non-functional art.
Projects encourage students to:
- Develop technical skills
- Experiment with new materials
- Express their individuality through creative problem-solving and self-reflection
As students progress through the course, they will build confidence in their artistic abilities while creating a diverse portfolio of artwork.
