6th Grade Courses

6th 2D Art: This class focuses on the basics of 2D art, so a foundation of knowledge and terminology can be built and can be applied in future art courses.  Student are given the opportunity to work in a "hands-on" art studio.  Topics covered could be, but are not limited to drawing, printmaking, painting, etc.

6th 3D Art: ​This class focuses on the basics of 3D art, so a foundation of knowledge and terminology can be built and can be applied in future courses.  Students are given the opportunity to work in a "hands-on" art studio.  Topics covered could be, but are not limited to ceramics, sculptures, plaster, etc.

7th Grade Courses

7th 2D Art: ​Students will refine and reinforce previously learned 2D art skills, along with introducing new techniques, processes, and materials.

7th 3D Art: ​​ Students will refine and reinforce previously learned 3D art skills, along with introducing new techniques, processes, and materials.

8th Grade Courses

3D Art Ceramic/Sculpture:​ Students will use a variety of media for three-dimensional construction.  However, there is a strong emphasis on clay.  We create both functional and non-functional art pieces.  May projects are self-reflective and focus on the student as an individual.

8th Art Draw/Paint: ​Basic drawing and painting techniques will be taught exploring a variety of materials.  Acrylics, oils, pencil, printing, tempera, inking, and watercolor are just a few of the possibilities of the types of material that may be used.   Skill development will start slowly and build as time permits.  This is a hands-on class that focuses on drawing as a basic skill needed for many projects.
