6th Grade Digital Arts & Media
Welcome to Timberview’s 6th Grade Computer Applications class. Students will engage in project-based activities that implement the National Educational Technology Standards and D20 21st Century Skills. Students will understand and practice Digital Citizenship. Students will practice keyboarding skills, create projects using Microsoft Word, Pivot Animator, and Adobe Photoshop CS6. They will also use Internet-based software like Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, and Prezi.
7th Grade Digital Arts & Media
Students will engage in project-based activities that implement the National Educational Technology Standards and D20 21st Century Skills. Students will understand and practice Digital Citizenship. Students will practice keyboarding skills, create advanced graphic design, 3D, and animation projects using using Adobe Photoshop CS6. Students will be create an online portfolio showcasing their work on restricted-access blogs via Google Blogger. They will also use Internet-based software like the Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets. Basic coding principles will be introduced and practiced using resources such as the Khan Academy, Hour of Code, and Code combat.
8th Grade Broadcast Journalism
Students will engage in project-based activities that implement the National Educational Technology Standards and D20 21st Century Skills. Students will understand and practice effective journalism techniques. Students will perform journalistic investigation, write scripts, and film and edit footage. They will produce both the daily announcements for Wolf TV and special features on local, national, and global news topics.
